What is a credit card?
4 min read
A credit card lets you borrow money from a bank to pay for things now, then pay it back later.
Pay the full balance each month and you usually pay no interest. Pay less, or pay late, and interest and fees add up fast.
| Card | Whose money? | Builds credit? |
|---|---|---|
| Credit | The bank's, borrowed | Yes |
| Debit | Yours, from your account | No |
| Prepaid | Yours, loaded in advance | No |
